Contributing to Noxward

Noxward is a small volunteer project in pre-production. We're looking for people interested in building an industrial survival game, whether that's through code, environments, art, or design.

This is unpaid work. We can't promise future payment or a release date, and nobody is expected to commit to a fixed schedule.

What could you work on?

Code: Small gameplay features, custom item interactions, GUIs, integrations, and supporting tools. The electrical simulation is being developed separately, so you wouldn't be expected to take on the whole system.

Building: Factories, substations, industrial ruins, infrastructure, and settlements. We're starting from scratch; no map has been built yet.

Art: Models, textures, concept art, animation, and the visual identity of machines and environments. No existing Noxward assets need to be matched.

Other areas: Lore, writing, sound, music, design feedback, and testing as prototypes become available.

How it works

Start by reading the project overview, gameplay design, and world page. If something interests you, get in touch. We can share the relevant design documents and work out a manageable first task together.

Developers will be able to work through reviewed pull requests. We're also setting up a way for writers and artists to suggest documentation changes in the browser without learning Git.

Ideas are welcome, but changes are reviewed before becoming part of the project. There's no complicated rank system or mandatory hours.
